Crop Protection Advising for Central Valley Growers

More than 20 Pest Control Advisors, licensed across most Central Valley crops — so the advisor walking your blocks already knows what he’s looking at.

Pest pressure doesn’t wait for a return phone call. Since 1949, growers in Fresno, Tulare, Kings, Kern, Madera and Ventura counties have relied on GAR to catch problems while they’re still small, and to put the recommendation in writing so there’s no guesswork about what happens next.

Experience, matched to your operation

We assign advisors based on what a grower actually needs. Permanent crops and row crops don’t behave the same way, and neither do the pests that go after them — so you get a PCA whose licensing and field experience fit your ground, not whoever happened to be free that morning.

Across the team that adds up to a deep bench: more than 20 licensed advisors covering most of what grows in the Valley, with the years behind them to recognize a problem on sight rather than working it out from scratch.

We don’t estimate pressure. We measure it.

A recommendation is only as good as the information behind it. Three things feed every recommendation we write.

Field scouting

Your advisor walks the blocks on a schedule through the season, tracking pressure as it actually develops rather than reacting to damage after it shows.

Trap monitoring

Traps run through the season give you real counts and real timing, so treatment decisions land in the window that matters instead of on the calendar.

Lab results

Extensive lab work backs up what we see in the field. We read the reports and turn them into a recommendation you can act on — not a stack of numbers to interpret yourself.

The paperwork, handled

We provide the Use Report documentation for our growers. Every recommendation is written down — product, rate and timing — and the reporting that goes with pest management comes from us, so your records are complete without you chasing them.

Organic ground leaves less room for a late call

Fewer approved materials, tighter timing, and a smaller margin for error — organic blocks demand that monitoring actually be on schedule. We build organic-approved programs around the products that meet the needs of the field in front of us, with the same scouting, trapping and lab work behind every recommendation.

Crops we work in

We cover a wide variety of what’s grown across the Central Valley — most permanent crops and most row crops. If it grows here, chances are one of our advisors is already licensed in it and has spent seasons working it.

  • Lab analysis, and recommendations built from the results

What working with a GAR advisor looks like

1 · We learn the ranch

Blocks, varieties, pest history, and what you’ve fought before — established before anyone recommends anything.

2 · We monitor all season

Scouting visits, traps and lab work track pressure as it builds, so decisions reflect this week rather than last month.

3 · You get it in writing

A written recommendation with product, rate and timing — and the product supplied from Reedley when you’re ready.
